⚙️ 3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for purposes directly related to providing and improving our medication delivery service. Specifically, we use your data to:

  • Process and fulfil your medication delivery order
  • Communicate with you about your order status, delays, or confirmation
  • Coordinate with the pharmacy supplying your medications
  • Assign a delivery rider and provide them with your delivery address
  • Process payment and send payment confirmation

🤝 4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Your data is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or unrelated businesses.

We may share limited information with the following parties, but only to the extent necessary to complete your order:

Pharmacy partners

When you order medications, we share your medication list and sometimes your name with the supplying pharmacy. This is necessary for them to prepare your order. We do not share your full delivery address or payment details with pharmacies.

Delivery riders

Our delivery riders are given your delivery address, your name, and sometimes your phone number so they can contact you upon arrival. Riders are not given your medical information or payment details.

Legal requirements

We may disclose personal information if required to do so by Ugandan law, court order, or regulatory authority. We would only do this when legally obligated and would inform you if possible.

⚠️ We will never share your medication or health information with your employer, family members, or any third party without your explicit consent.

🛡️ 5. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Our security practices include:

  • Order records are stored in password-protected systems accessible only to authorised MediDeliver staff
  • WhatsApp communications are protected by end-to-end encryption provided by WhatsApp
  • We do not store payment card details — mobile money transactions are handled through the respective networks (MTN, Airtel)
  • Staff are trained not to share customer information externally
  • We do not store sensitive data (such as prescription images) longer than necessary

While we take reasonable care to protect your data, no digital system is completely secure. If you believe your personal information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at medideliveruganda@gmail.com.

🗂️ 6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to provide our service and meet our legal obligations. In practice:

  • Order records (name, address, medications ordered) are kept for up to 12 months to handle any queries or repeat orders
  • Communication records (WhatsApp/email) may be retained for up to 6 months for dispute resolution
  • After the retention period, data is deleted or anonymised
  • You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us (see Section 7)

You have rights over the personal information we hold about you. You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information

👶 8. Children's Privacy

Our service is intended for adults and parents or guardians ordering on behalf of their families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.

📱 9. WhatsApp & Third-Party Platforms

We use WhatsApp Business as our primary communication channel. Please be aware that WhatsApp is a separate service operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. When you communicate with us via WhatsApp, their privacy policy also applies to that communication.

We recommend reviewing WhatsApp's privacy policy at whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Our website does not use third-party tracking scripts, advertising networks, or social media pixels. We use Google Fonts for typography — this means your browser may make a request to Google's servers to load fonts. We do not control what Google collects through this process.
